Dr. John Keith Contarino Keith Contarino, 62, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013, at his home. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Saturno Contarino; and his father, John Joseph Contarino. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelors of Science degree, completed his Masters Program in Agronomy at the University of Georgia, and continued on to receive his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, also from the University of Georgia. His love for animals was so great that in addition to working in his practice, he donated his time to the local area animal rescue groups and volunteered at the Humane Society. He was a loving and devoted father to his two sons who passionately supported their activities and sports. He coached his sons soccer team and later refereed youth leagues. He loved his school and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan! He hooked his youngest sister, Jill, on the Bulldogs and they attended games together. He also followed the Purdue Boilermakers, his dads alma mater. Keith had a kind and generous heart to those around him. He epitomized the true meaning of gentleness. His family and friends will remember his calming tone and the impact it had. In addition to his wife, Amy London Contarino; he is survived by his sons, David Cason Contarino and Daniel Vincent Contarino; his sister, Karen Contarino of Bedford, VA (daughter Brittany Pare of Richmond, VA); his brother, Peter Contarino (wife Teresa) of Gibsonville, NC; and his sister, Jill Contarino of Roswell, GA. Memorials may be made to your local Humane Society. A funeral service will be held in Marietta, GA, on Friday, December 13, 2013. Norman Medford Peden Funeral Home, 1408 Canton Rd., Marietta, GA 30066, is assisting the family. There was a Celebration of Keith*s Life in Lynchburg, VA, in January, 2014
